Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey, a nonprofit whose mission is to make dance accessible to all people, has created a new award to honor national advocates for their work in diversity and inclusion. KCFAA will honor Debbie Allen with the inaugural Race, Place & Diversity Award. The award will be presented at a special dinner as part of the Race, Place & Diversity Symposium: Our Past, One Future series at 7 p.m. Nov. 17, at the Muehlebach Marriott Downtown.
