Hens for Haiti benefit auction
Do you want to help the families in Mellier, Haiti, build a sustainable chicken farm to create new jobs and produce a high protein source? Then come to the Hens for Haiti benefit auction Saturday at Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church, 28901 N.E. Colbern Road, Lake Lotawana, Gate 1.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with a chili and soup dinner and a silent auction. Then the lively, fast moving live auction begins at 6:30 p.m. Auction items include local artisan creations, dining gift certificates, sports memorabilia, interesting event and activity packages, fabulous themed gift baskets, tasty baked goodies, and much more.

Holiday Bazaar Saturday at St. Paul's UMC
Church Women United at St. Paul's United Methodist Church are sponsoring a Holiday Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, at the church, 3601 S Sterling Ave., Independence.
There will be crafts, jewelry, gift items, holiday decorations and baked goods available for purchase, with proceeds going to scholarships for seniors graduating from high school in Independence.

Trinity Episcopal craft bazaar Saturday
Trinity Episcopal Church will be having their annual Crafts and Collectibles Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, 409 N. Liberty St., just north of Independence Square (entrance on White Oak.)
There will be lots of items to buy, and homemade soups and desserts for sale as well.
Stone Church to hear Andrew Bolton Sunday
The theme this Sunday is “Receive and Be Trustworthy” at the 10:20 a.m. worship service at the Stone Church Community of Christ, 1012 W. Lexington Ave., Independence.
The speaker will be Andrew Bolton, with Charles Belcher as presider. Other participants are Darlene Caswell, Paulette V. Resch, Ashlee Malanowski and Sharon Hannah. John Davies and Eric Scott will be musicians for the service.

Pancakes with Santa Dec. 2 at Colonial Hills
Enjoy a free pancake breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 2, at Colonial Hills Community of Christ, 3539 S.W. Missouri 7, Blue Springs.
Have your photo taken with Santa for $1, or bring your own camera. There will also be a Kids' Christmas Shoppe where the kids can shop for the whole family. Items are $1.50 each and gift wrapping is free gift wrapping. Drawings for prizes will also take place.
