The Grain Valley Branch of Mid-Continent Public Library is offering the following activities for the month of December. The library is located at 101 S.W. Eagles Pkwy. All activities are free, but registration is required, call 816-228-4020.
Create with Lego Bricks – Christmas Tree: For ages 6 and older, 10 a.m. Dec. 2. Programs are built around our special model plans designed by engineers and architects, with exciting themes such as space, construction, and amusement parks.
Book Group: For adults, 7 p.m. Dec. 4. Come meet like-minded people, enjoy lively discussion, learn which books inspire others, and talk about your favorite books.
Storytime with Santa and Mrs. Claus: For all ages, 10 a.m. Dec. 6. Santa and Mrs. Claus are making a special trip from the North Pole to read a holiday story at the Library. After the story, sit on Santa’s lap to tell him what you want for Christmas. Don’t forget your cameras!
Warm from the Oven: For adults, 2 p.m. Dec. 9. Join an award-winning culinary team to learn how to make mouth-watering, made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls. This hands-on instructional class will take you through the steps of making the dough, rolling the rolls, and creating a sweet icing from scratch. Each participant will leave with a pan full of doughy goodness to take home and bake.
Storytime for Preschoolers: 10 a.m. Dec. 13 and 20 Visit the Library for an exciting and unique storytime journey. We'll explore the first steps toward reading readiness for you and your preschooler. Designed for preschoolers between 3 and 5 years old and their caregivers.
