Today I want to share a couple of fun pictures of a new guest to our salon.
Her story is kind of unique as well. Her name is Morgan Brown, and she is the 12-year-old spelling bee champion from her North Platte R-1 school.
She was in our salon because we invited her to join us and enjoy several beauty services, and, because of a kind, thoughtful, Jamie.
Jamie first heard Morgan’s story the same time as I did. You see, Morgan is the young lady who almost didn’t get to go to the Scripps National Spelling Bee all because of a paperwork error.
Yet after quite a bit of conversation with Channel 9 reporter Maria Antonia, followed by several days of media backlash, the spelling bee organization decided she could participate. Our friend Jamie was so pleased with the outcome that she wanted to treat Morgan for her hard work and accomplishments with a salon visit.
For she and Morgan have something in common...curly hair. That curly hair bond led to an afternoon of fun and beauty for little Miss Morgan. Jamie even gifted Morgan with her favorite book - The Curly Girl Handbook by Lorraine Massey.
Morgan was thrilled and her silver, braced 12-year-old awkward grin soon turned into a beautifully confident preteen smile.
She really enjoyed her manicure, haircut, style and deep conditioning treatment, eyebrow shaping and makeup application!
Please enjoy these pictures and let’s all wish Morgan good luck. If she makes it far enough in the national contest we might just see her on TV! Thank’s again to our good friend Jamie for being so generous.
Jamie and Morgan, those of us who have also “embraced the curl” (a direct quote from my curly-headed step daughter, Kate) salute you! Have a beautiful day!
