What advice do you have for next year’s freshmen?
Some advice for next year’s freshmen is to get involved. The more involved you are, the more people you meet and the larger impact you will make on your school and your community. Trust me, you will have time to get involved, do all of your school work and even have a job during high school. Also, I highly recommend taking challenging classes in high school. They are extremely fun and informal and will greatly prepare you for future difficult classes. Last word of advice, don’t give up. High school may seem impossible at some times, but you can do it.

Who was your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teacher was Ms. Linda Abrams, my middle school gifted teacher. She was not only an inspiration to me, she was an inspiration to our whole class. She is the nicest teacher I have ever had and actually, she is more than a teacher, she is a best friend. She taught us things we could not learn in a normal classroom, like life lessons and other things. Having her for three years was the best thing, and I hope to become even half the person she is when I grow up.

When you were not in school or studying, what did you enjoy doing?
When I was not in school or studying, I enjoyed hanging out with my family and friends, and also, working. I see my grandparents almost every day, I love them more than anything, and they are the biggest influence on my life. I love my friends and spend a lot of time hanging out and even studying with them. Lastly, I work at Hollister Co. in the Independence Center, and I have been working there for a year and a half. I love my job and hope I end up loving my future jobs as much as I love this one.

What college do you plan to attend and why?
I am planning to attend Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Mo., and I am planing to major in engineering management and minor in French. I love the atmosphere of the town of Rolla. It just is so nerdy, and I knew I would fit in there perfectly.

What do you see yourself doing 10 years from now?
In 10 years, I see myself graduated from college and settled into my career as a businesswoman. I could see myself earning a graduate degree as well. Mostly, though, I see myself becoming a wife and a mother. I am extremely excited to get married and start a family, but not until after I have graduated from college.
