The CommunityAmerica Credit Union on Noland Road was robbed on Thursday afternoon.

Independence Police spokesman Tom Gentry said that at 4:45 p.m., a man entered the credit union at 3622 S. Noland Road and held it up. He said the suspect appeared to be a male in a blue suit jacket.

The FBI said he brandished a weapon and showed a note. He fled the credit union on foot.

He was described as 5-foot-10 to 6-foot tall, approximately 40 years old, wearing a blue suit jacket, a yellow hat, sunglasses and a fake mustache.

Gentry had no details on any money taken, but he said there were no injuries. Police and the FBI are investigating.
