Independence, MO —
Local country artist Dale Tyge filmed his first country music video in the Independence area earlier this month.
Tyge previously released original songs “Jesus and George Straight” and “Veteran” online in 2009. In 2010, he performed at the famous Ryman Auditorium/Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn., getting a chance to rub elbows with top labels and publishing companies. Tyge eventually signed with TMG Records (Tate Music Group/Universal Distribution) in September 2010. TMG is a young label, founded in 2008, that represents acts like Neil McCoy, Lee Greenwood, Kenny Rogers and Roy Clark as well as several vocalists and groups who have competed on “American Idol” and “America’s Got Talent.” Tyge spent most of the next year writing new songs and polishing up old ones so he can head to the studio and record. He returned to Nashville to record his debut album, wrapping in September. His first single, “The Bar Fight Song,” will be released in summer 2012.
Tyge filmed his first music video earlier this month at The Wild Stallion Saloon in Independence. In the video, Tyge drives the famous General Lee car, and his sidekick, Gunrok, drives the famous Bandit car on back roads that look like Hazard County. The duo is chased in the video by an old patrol car. Tyge signed autographs after filming the famous car jump scene.
Director Brett Jackson said he enjoyed working with these famous cars and that it was one of most fun video shoots he has ever filmed.
