A Boy Scout from Troop 206 in Independence salutes a flag he has just planted at a grave in Mount Washington Cemetery in preparation for Memorial Day Weekend.

Several extra flags went up Friday at the Courthouse Annex off the Square in Independence. It’s in remembrance of those who have died in the armed services. The flags will be on display throughout the weekend. The annex is at 308 W. Kansas Ave.
