What advice do you have for next year’s freshmen?
Ninth grade is an important year to maintain your grades. It is the first year records are kept to determine your GPA and an easy year to relax and not keep your grades up. Many of the habits that control how hard you work on your schoolwork are formed during your freshman year, so be careful to form good habits.

Who was your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teacher throughout high school has been Mr. Ward Hamilton. I have learned from him in American history, U.S. History, government and personal finance. I have also had the privilege to be coached by him on the Bible Quiz Team and have him as my class sponsor. He is a very gifted man who has the ability to make history, a subject typically thought of as boring, come alive. He also did a great job as our class sponsor, organizing activities for our class to be involved in. Not only is he a great teacher and mentor, but he is also a fun person to be with outside of class.

When you were not in school or studying, what did you enjoy doing?
My two favorite pastimes outside of school are playing basketball and playing trombone.

What college do you plan to attend and why?
I plan to attend Bob Jones University this fall. I chose this college because it offers a Christian education and has very strong academic programs.

What do you see yourself doing 10 years from now?
In 10 years, I hope to have graduated from college and to be done with medical school or finishing it.
