Julie Groff
Groff is in the second year of her second term on the board. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Longwood College in Farmville, Va. and is a stay-at-home mother. She also volunteers at the district schools and is a member of the PTA. Groff has three children.
Phil Hutchinson
Hutchinson is in his seventh year on the board and is a past board president. He has lived in the district for more than 15 years and is a certified public accountant. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Illinois University and has served on the Citizen’s Advisory Committee. He and his wife have two children.
Jan Reding
Reding is beginning her fourth term on the board. She has lived in the district since 1977 and has previously served as board president. She is retired as the building mana’ger of the Power and Light Building. Reding has one son who graduated from Grain Valley High School in 1990.
Michael Hackett
Hackett has been on the board for four years and is president. He has lived in the school district since 1996 and works on computer maintenance for a company in Independence. He has one stepson, who attends Grain valley schools, and a daughter.
Jared English
English is in the final year of his first full term and is vice president. He served for several months during the 2005-06 school year, completing the final year on former board member Diane Logan’s term. He is an insurance broker for Thomas McGee, L.C.
John Pauley
Pauley is beginning his second term on the board of education and is past board president. He has lived in the school district for more than 10 years and is an IBEW electrician. He and his wife have two children.
Rusty Brown
Brown is beginning his third year on the board and is serving as board secretary. He works for an engineering company in Lee’s Summit.
