Lee’s Summit ready to clean up litter

Help make a difference in Lee’s Summit on Saturday. Join the Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation Department, the Beautification Commission and Choose Environmental Excellence to “Sweep the Summit” and clean up litter.

Research and experience prove that litter attracts more litter. A clean community, by contrast, discourages littering and raises local living standards and quality of life.

Volunteers can pick up bags, gloves and vests at Summit Park at 9:30 a.m. After litter has been collected, volunteers can meet at Summit Park at 11 a.m. to celebrate Arbor Day with a tree planting and enjoy pizza and prizes! Individuals, businesses and community groups are all welcome.
