Blue Springs Night with the Kansas City Wizards, a benefit for the Jennifer Ireland Foundation, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Jennifer was a young mother in Blue Springs who passed away a few years ago of colon cancer. She and her family kept a blog during all her treatment experiences, illness and ultimately her death that was followed by thousands of people locally and across the country. Her family and friends have established the not-for-profit foundation as a tribute to her and as a way to financially and emotionally support families and parents dealing with cancer and treatments.
Tickets are $15 for grass berm; $20 for bleacher reserved; $25 for stadium reserved. Pre-game tailgate is an additional $8, and includes hamburgers, hot dog, grilled chicken, potato salad, chips, cookies, canned soda, lemonade and bottled water.
