Independence residents can register to win tickets to a home Mavericks hockey game.
The city will give away a limited number of tickets to every home game, starting with the first home game Friday, Nov. 13 against the Wichita Thunder.
As owners of the Events Center, the City receives tickets to each home game.
“Since the facility belongs to the community, we thought this would be a positive way to share the exciting experience of Mavericks’ hockey with Independence residents who might not otherwise be able to attend a game,” Independence Mayor Don Reimal said.
Residents can register to win tickets at the city’s Web site: http://www.independencemo.org. Click on the “Win Tickets” button. Each winner will receive two tickets. Employees and elected officials of the City of Independence and their immediate families are not eligible to participate in this ticket giveaway promotion. You must be 18 years of age or older to enter.
Entrants may select any number of games from the listed Mavericks schedule and will be included in the drawing for each of those games.
Entrants can enter to win tickets until such time as their name is drawn as a winner. Winners will be randomly selected by computer 10 days prior to each game and will be notified by telephone or, if provided, by e-mail.
A valid photo ID and proof of residency, such as a utility bill, is required when picking up tickets.
A complete list of contest rules is available on the Web site.
