Blue Springs endorses efforts to change ZIP codes

ZIP codes could soon be changing for some in Blue Springs.

The Blue Springs City Council approved a resolution at its meeting Monday, supporting a request from the Blue Springs Citizen Vision Implementation Committee.

The request is being made to the U.S. Postal Service to change ZIP codes to align the city’s east (Grain Valley 64029) and south (Lee’s Summit 64064) to ZIP codes within the city’s boundary ZIP codes of 64014 (east of Missouri 7) and 64015 (west of Missouri 7).

Because it was a consent agenda item, City Council members did not have any further discussion on the topic.
