The Sunshine Center is a non-profit group founded in 1975 that offers childcare, as well as occupational, speech and language, and physical therapy.

The center offers services in an inclusive environment to children with or without special needs. It primarily serves children from birth to age 5, but children with special needs can continue to receive service until age 21.

In June, the Sunshine Center opened a new location at 18400 E. Salisbury Road. This center is able to serve 180 children at the new location. Sunshine Center continues to operate its original location at 607 W. Lexington Ave.

Childcare costs $40 a day for infants to 2-year-olds for five days a week care, $43 a day for infants to 2-year-olds for part-time care, $33 for full-time care for children 2 years old and older and $36 a day for part-time care for children 2 years old and older.

The center is funded by the United Way and through private contributions. Sunshine Center also utilizes 600 volunteers each year to be able to fulfill its mission.
