I don’t know about you, my friends, but these days I can appreciate any beauty tips that can help me look younger.

Did you know that certain hairstyles are more youthful than others? I’m not talking about pigtails to make us look like we are 7 again but age-appropriate looks that can give you the boost that you may need to feel young and energetic. Anti aging if you will, by just choosing the correct hairstyle, like shorter hair, bangs (or fringe) or a sleek ponytail.

Bangs are great. They can really help balance your facial features for a fresh, sexy, look. You can change them as well. Try straight, full bangs if you want to balance a wide forehead, receding hairline or a few wrinkles.

Shorter haircuts are a fast way to rejuvenate your look. It almost always makes your hair look healthier and fuller. Talk to your stylist about the best cut for your hair, facial shape and your ability to do any certain style.

Loose waves and curls are always timeless. For those of us with natural curl or waves, there are loads of options. If you have straight hair, you can use an iron to get soft waves.

If your hair is longer, you have the option of wearing it up or down. A high ponytail clears the face and softens features. A chignon placed at the base of the neck is always lovely. Wear it loose and messy this holiday season for something softer and different.

Highlights can give a sexy and youthful look. They can hide or camouflage a few gray strands, soften your look and give you just enough change to be interesting. It has been reported that returning your hair color to the color of your youth can take 30 years off of your look. Highlights can help to do just that. We often do tone- on-tone highlights with our hair color. This is a soft natural look, rather than bold streaks.

I really think that one of the most important things you can do to make your hair look young is to keep it in stellar health. There is nothing worse than dry frizzy hair that is in bad need of a trim. Now that is aging!

Give some of these tips some thought this winter season. Happy holidays from my home to yours!
