Police identify shooting victim

Independence Police have identified Michael K. Talley, 27, of Independence as the victim of a shooting early Wednesday. 

Detective Sgt. John Bullard said two people are in custody for questioning concerning the shooting. However, Bullard said Thursday morning that no charges have been filed. 

The shooting took place at 12:30 a.m. at 9024 E. Wilson Road. Police said the investigation shows that a group of people went to the residence, where a dispute occurred. He said a man at the residence shot a member of the group, who was making threats with a baseball bat. 

Talley was taken to North Kansas City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
