Independence, MO —

To the editor:

Thank you for balancing your reporting on the event centers in Youngstown and Rio Rancho with an article featuring two of the arenas (Rio Grand Valley and Loveland) in which Global Properties has experienced success.

In addition to the myriad events Global brings to these event centers, anchor tenants from the Central Hockey League have captured the imagination of their communities. In their five-year history, the Colorado Eagles have never played to a sub-sellout crowd, the Rio Grand Valley Killer Bees averaged 4,711 during their just concluded season and the Arizona Sundogs played to an average of 4,310 en route to their first CHL championship.

We are blessed to have a city council, and other officials, in Independence who have taken time and put forth the effort with Global to make our event center a reality.

This will create employment, bring entertainment, fill hotel rooms and restaurants and inform out-of-town visitors of the many great things we have to offer in Independence. It will add to the many things we have to be proud of.
