To the editor:
There’s tremendous difference in frowns and smiles, and this pertains to governments’ priority spending. When their funds get low for wants, their frowns bring thought of increasing taxes. These wants are blown out of proportion and cause dents to taxpayers’ bank accounts, for more and more money.
The big wigs don’t feel the crunch, but the middle- and low-income taxpayers do. The governments specifics are, “Oh, we need,” then ads are placed and fliers distributed and election is had, and some vote and some don’t vote (due to the non-trust of government).
If measures pass, the champagne sparkles via bigwigs celebrations. The taxpayers are placed in the back of the book, until needed again.
Thousands, millions, billions of dollars are improperly spent on wants and not the needs. Is it any wonder that taxpayers hang up their hat (so to speak) in the governments wasteful spending? The taxpayers are choked to beyond reason, via governments’ loopholes for priorities. Governments don’t listen to the citizens’ complaints. They have deaf ears, and taxpayers are pinned down with millions of debt dollars.
Harry S. Truman said, “Every segment of our population and every individual has a right to expect from his government, a fair deal.”
