To the editor:
Kudos to the two Independence Hy-Vee Stores for their adoption of Waterfall Park. As part of their spring project, the management and employees of these stores have made a one-year commitment to provide volunteers to clean litter and brush in the new park next to Bass Pro Shops.
Anyone who travels through our city or visits our parks can see that more volunteers are needed to help keep our city free from litter. As Paul Hoppman, one of the Hy-Vee managers said recently, “It’s the right thing to do.”
I only wish more groups and businesses in our city would step forward to volunteer and “do the right thing.” We would all benefit.
