To the editor:
I am a Hallmark Cards Inc. retiree. Recently I received a letter from Hallmark saying my out-of-pocket health-care expense would double. Next, I expect to hear that Hallmark will no longer be able to pay any part of our insurance!
Hallmark’s costs have risen 35 percent in the last five years to $100 million per year! This must change, and the current reform bill is the best chance available.
Rep. Sam Graves voted against the current bill. I hope he will see fit to vote yes on the conference bill, which will hopefully be perfected before year’s end. It’s the only chance we will have to help American corporations meet their obligations and to help the millions of Americans who are far worse off than we are.
