Thompson stands up for public schools

With the election less that two weeks away, I felt it absolutely necessary to write this letter. The people of the 53rd District are not being represented as they should.

Our Representative Curt Dougherty voted for several bills that would have permanently hurt state funding for public schools and libraries. He also voted for vouchers, which would allow public money to be spent on private schools, and he voted to cut professional development funds of our public school teachers.

The people of the 53rd District deserve better. We need to vote for a person who will represent us in Jefferson City as Democrats. We need to support Gary Thompson, who will stand up for public schools, for teachers, for libraries and for the people of the 53rd District.
