To the editor:
Have you ever read a more bigoted line than Vicki Walker’s in her column (“Why isn’t Obama further ahead?”) last Thursday?
She writes, “But I would say that 99 percent of Democrats who vote for McCain are doing so simply because of the color of his skin?” Conversely, would she surmise that 99 percent of African-Americans will vote for Obama because of the color of his skin?
Maybe some of those Democrats won’t vote for Obama because he is “all hat and no cattle.” Maybe they believe his candidacy was perfectly described by the libidinous Bubba from Hope, Ark., as a big fairy tale. Maybe they believe his associations with nefarious characters in his recent past delineate quite well his own character flaws. The list of reasons is long.
Maybe Vicki Walker should rename her radio program “K.C. Media Watchdogs for the Democratic National Committee!”
