“Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” – this is the title of a 1741 sermon by Jonathan Edwards. I believe one of the saddest and most damning statements I have heard in my lifetime was that of President Obama while he was overseas recently. He said, “America is not a Christian nation.”
After Jesus, who created the world and all that is in it, has made the United States the most powerful and prosperous nation in history, President Obama has prophesied America’s coming destruction. The founding and rise of the U.S. was based on Christianity and a belief in the Bible. Now, I have heard even so-called Christians say the Bible is just a tale of primitive people sitting around a campfire.
There is Scripture that says when a nation is ripe in inequity, God’s judgment comes. Can anyone deny the perilous conditions the U.S. is in today? Morally and financially, the U.S. is in deep trouble.
One of the final signs of God’s coming judgments is the practice of homosexuality. History shows that Greece, Rome and Sodom and Gomorrah were all destroyed because of this practice. The Old Testament and the New Testament both condemn this practice as sins.
Many homosexuals have compared the blacks’ struggles for acceptance with the gay movement. This is not accurate. A person’s color is determined by God, while the homosexual movement is one of choice. A baby is not born that way. The increasing number of gays severely proves they are choosing to engage in the practice.
In the Bible, Leviticus chapter 20:13 says, “If a man also lieth with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death ...”
Also in Romans chapter 1:26-27, Apostle Paul said, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile afflictions; for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature, and likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another.”
Whether anyone believes in these commandments or not, the truth is we shall be judged by all of God’s Commandments.
Jesus said he would return to judge the world. He said to watch for the signs of his coming. I believe the signs of America’s enemies and the potential possible fall of America, like the fall of the Roman empire, is surely visible in the U.S.
May God help America to repent before this happens. May God and Jesus have mercy on the disobedient and sinful nation the U.S. has become.
