While we anticipate a winter snow in the area, I sit at my laptop in my warm cozy home and realize my skin is dry as a bone.
I don’t know about you, but I am a dry skin mess every winter due to the lack of moisture in the air.
If you are fighting the dry skin battle these days, there are several things you can do that will help. Here are a few of my favorite helpers.
Get a massage
The combination of the oil and massage manipulation do many, many wonderful things. I bet you never thought about it being a good exfoliant and moisturizer, have you? Works wonders, and don’t forget about the other benefits...muscle relaxation, toxin release, stress release.
The list goes on and on.
Try a facial
Between the wonderful steam, exfoliation and yummy moisturizing serums, a facial really goes a long, long way to help your face feel, and look, like it glows.
Don’t forget a nice manicure and pedicure
Include a warm paraffin dip to seal in all the lotion your skin receives during the treatment process.
Again, the manicure and pedicure itself will make your hands and feet look marvelous while the massage you get will help to get rid of the dry flaking skin while adding a beautiful glow.
Home skin care is a must
Don’t forget to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize your entire body at home.
This will make a huge difference.
In the winter months, I actually use a really deep facial moisturizer on my feet, just to keep them feleing good. There are a bazillion skin care lines out there. Remember that you might have to have a “winter regimen” that includes a deeper moisturizer than you use during the summer.
Spray the moisture on
My all time favorite tip to prevent dry itchy skin is to keep a water bottle within reach while in the shower. Add a few drops of grape seed, or olive oil and a few more drops of lavender essential oil to the bottle.
Mist your body lightly before you get out of the shower and then towel off. The mist will seal the shower water in your body and you will feel smooth and soft all day.
I hope these little tips go a long way for you this winter! Here’s to beautiful, glowing, skin all winter long! Have a beautiful day.
