While some people can look stunning with gray hair, it is simply not true for all. If you feel you are in the looking not so good category, there are ways to cover your gray hair and make it easier to manage. All the while looking fabulous.

If you don’t have your color done the correct way, there will be a chance that it may not absorb the color or the color will fade out after shampooing only a few times. A good colorist will know how to pretreat your hair, how to formulate the color for you, and what treatments are needed to help maintain the color. All this will help make your color look beautiful.
If you choose not to completely cover the gray, another option is to have your hair highlighted. This will help the gray hairs blend in better and can tend to be a more natural look.
Highlights generally look better on people who have blond or light to medium brown hair. If you have dark brown or black hair, there will be too much of a contrast between your natural and gray hair.
Coloring your hair black to cover up gray is generally not a good idea. An all over lighter color may work as well. As we get older, our skin tones change as well. It really does not look as flattering for an older person to have dark black hair. It is too harsh.
Yet another option is to blend the gray with a semi-permanent color. If your gray is less than 50 percent of your hair color, this is an option for you. It may not color all of your hair, but it will blend in the most of the gray. I often choose a lighter color than the natural color and use the gray hairs as highlights. It creates a soft dimensional effect that looks lovely.
Whatever you choose, there are many options. Looking good with gray hair has never been so easy!
