Malcolm is about 10 months old now, and while he’s full grown, he is still very much a puppy.
Thanks to winning $20,000 in late 2011, the Independence Animal Shelter will sponsor a free vaccination clinic for Independence residents this weekend.
Following in the footsteps of Whisker Wednesday, Thursday will be “30 Thursday” at the Independence Animal Shelter.
Animals Best Friends recently rescued four terrier mixes: two boys named Chubbers and Snickers, and two girls named Dolly and Emily. The previous owners could not keep them and needed assistance placing them, so ABF volunteered to take them and place them in good homes.
I went to the Animals Best Friends rescue facility this weekend to spend some time with the kids there. One particular kid that stayed in my mind after I left was Max. Max is a German short-haired pointer who is 6 years old.
There seems to be a lot of germs going around lately and we humans are getting sick. While we are going to the doctor and trying to feel better, we need to be alert as to how our pets are doing because they can get sick too.
June might be another five months away, but the Independence Animal Shelter has already pledged one day toward a greater national cause aimed at saving animals’ lives.
