The city of Independence’s free Pets in the Park event is quickly approaching.
It’s from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 19 at Waterfall Park near Bass Pro Shops at 4501 S. Bass Pro Drive. Activities include a pet judging contest, a pet parade and prizes for attendance.
Free rabies shots will be available for animals, as well as microchipping for $10 per animal. Pet owners also may visit with area vendors about pet services, products and adoptions.
