Pleasant View Christian Church is having a vacation Bible school kick-off carnival from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, 19114 E. Salisbury Road, Independence.
There will be carnival games, a moon walk and concessions, plus a registration table for the VBS. Serengeti Trek is the theme, and is offered preschool age to sixth grade. The youth group will help with the activities, as well as any adult volunteers.
The church is also starting a Wednesday youth Bible study group from 6 to 7 p.m., studying the book “Erasing Hell,” by Francis Chan.

The theme for Vacation Bible school at Norfleet Baptist Church is “Babylon – Daniel’s Courage in Captivity,” and will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday at the church, 5512 Norfleet Road, Kansas City.

St. Peter’s United Methodist Church is holding an “All Family Vacation Bible School,” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday at the church, 3609 S.W. Missouri 7, Blue Springs. Family-style meals begin at 5:30 p.m. each evening.
The theme is to learn to depend on Jesus as our all-powerful Guide and Savior. You’ll be transported to the most amazing National Park, where you’ll learn the true power of Jesus’ promises to us. There is an adult class, which includes a movie with popcorn. You’ll watch a movie that reveals the true damage of guilt and anger while revealing the healing power of forgiveness and love.
