Following a month of open house tours for the general public, the new Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple in Kansas City was dedicated Sunday, May 6. Now that Church of Jesus Christ President Thomas S. Monson has dedicated the Temple, it is open only to practicing Mormons who come with a recommendation from their ecclesiastical leaders. The facility is located about 25 minutes north of Independence off of Interstate 435 and Shoal Creek Parkway.
