Elizabeth Marie Meyers and John Cooper Walker of Kansas City, Kan., were united in marriage in an evening ceremony Sept. 20, 2008, at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Blue Springs. The Rev. James E. Healy officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride, the daughter of Linda and Mike Meyers of Blue Springs, wore a Maggie Sottero white strapless, mermaid dress featuring an embellished ribbon lace over satin. The lace was adorned with seed beads, sequins and bugle beads, finished with a sweep train and a button back closure. Her veil was made by her mother-in-law.
The parents of the bridegroom are Sheryl Bahr of Rossville, Kan., and Chris Walker of Wichita, Kan.
Dianna Meyers assisted the bride as maid of honor, with Megheen Walker, Kati Flowers-Smith, Eleni Romano and Darci Vohs as bridesmaids. Steven Markway and Sara Markway were candlelighters, with Jett Fasse as ring bearer, and Gracie Lamb as flower girl.
Lawrence Jensen served as best man, with Timothy Meyers, Brock Boling, Mike Maloney and Martin Jones as groomsmen.
The reception was held at the Emaline Ballroom in Lee’s Summit.
The bride received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sports marketing/management from Wichita State University. She is a client service representative for AEG Kansas City, Sprint Center.
The bridegroom received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Newman University, and is a nurse in the Burn Unit at the University of Kansas Hospital
After a honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Mr. and Mrs. Walker are at home in Kansas City, Kan.
