Alarie Sims and Michael Ornburn of Cumberland Gap, Tenn., were united in marriage in an afternoon ceremony July 26, 2008, at the Church of St. Mary, Aldermanbury at Westminster College, Fulton, Mo. The Rev. Steve Cox officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

The bride, the daughter of Warren and Cheryl Sims of Blue Springs, wore an ivory corset style, A-line dress, with beaded embroidery and off-setting champagne details. The gown featured a chapel-length train, with cascading bands and elegant embroidery decoration.

The parents of the bridegroom are David and Nancy Ornburn of Lawrence, Kan.

Molly Hanley assisted the bride as matron of honor, with Kristin Smith serving as maid of honor. Lindsay Simpson and Chelsey Ornburn were bridesmaids, with Alexa Carmichael as junior bridesmaid.

Jason Chacko served as best man, with Brig Halpin, Greg Sims and Jacob Ornburn as groomsmen. Andrew Ornburn was junior groomsman. Chapin Deel, Adam Kloppe and Matt House were ushers.

The reception was held at Backer Dining Hall at Westminster College.

The bride, a 2002 graduate of Blue Springs High School, received a degree in business administration-management in 2006 from William Woods University. Alarie is employed by Home Federal Bank in Middlesboro, Ky.

The bridegroom, a 2002 graduate of Lawrence High School, graduated in 2006 from Westminster College with a degrees in biology and political science. He received a Master of Science degree in biomedical sciences in 2008 from Midwestern University. Michael is a first year medical student at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tenn.

Mr. and Mrs. Ornburn are at home in Cumberland Gap.
