Amy Le Huynh of Independence became the bride of Matthew Eric Sanchez, also of Independence, in an afternoon ceremony Aug. 30, 2008, at The Rhapsody in Independence. Pastor Brian Ross officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride, the daughter of Thuc and Oanh Huynh of Independence, wore a Monique Luo, strapless tulle sheath pick-up, white gown. The gown featured a cathedral-length train, shirred bodice and beaded lace appliqués.
The parents of the bridegroom are Michael and Janie Sanchez of Independence.
Cassie Brown assisted the bride as maid of honor, with Ericka Bustamante and Shelby Eagan as bridesmaids. Josh Brotherton was ring bearer, with Alexa Spencer as flower girl.
Cameron Rupert served as best man, with Benjamin Sanchez, brother of the groom, and Chris Motl as groomsmen. Lucas Parton and Ryan Waters were ushers.
The reception was held at The Rhapsody.
The bride, a sophomore at Rockhurst University, with a possible transfer to University of San Diego, works part-time as a center attendant for the Independence Parks & Recreation Department.
The bridegroom is a private first class in the United States Marine Corps, currently stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez honeymooned at Chateau Avalon. It is undetermined at this time where they will make their home, due to the groom’s upcoming deployment.
