Melody Lynn Borden and Anthony Joseph Henthorne of Independence were united in marriage in an evening ceremony Sept. 27, 2008, at Calvary Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Raymond Gard officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

The bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Borden of Independence, was escorted by her father. Melody wore a strapless ivory floor-length gown with red accents on the top and bottom of the gown. The gown laced up in back, and featured a small train.

Kathy Jo Henthorne and Jim Armor of Buckner are the parents of the bridegroom.

Dee Montenguise, the bride’s aunt, and Phyllis Willman, the groom’s aunt, were guests of honor.

Harmony Overfelt, sister of the bride, assisted as matron of honor, with Ashley McArthur, Danielle John, Renee Rinehart and Sherry Stevens as bridesmaids. Jack Shoen and Andrew Overfelt were ring bearers, with Addison Overfelt as flower girl.

Matt Willman served as best man, with James Armor, Tyler Cooper, Tharun Trammel and Patrick Stevens as groomsmen. Ryan Montenguise and Phillip Hamilton were ushers.

The reception included dinner and dancing at Sheetmetal Workers Local 2

Mr. and Mrs. Henthorne make their home in Independence.
