Erin Marie Smith of Parkville was united in marriage to Brandon Wayne Stevenson of Kansas City in an afternoon ceremony Oct. 25, 2008, at Highlands Community of Christ Church in Kansas City. Elders Wayne Janks and Lester Stevenson, grandfathers of the groom, officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride, the daughter of Allen and Alycia Smith of Fort Wayne, Ind., wore a strapless, white floor-length, A-line gown of Empress taffeta. The gown laced up in back, and featured a bodice with a lace overlay accented with pearls and beading.
Larry and Leslie Stevenson of Richmond, Mo., are the parents of the bridegroom.
Heather Brooner assisted the bride at maid of honor, with Erin Roberson serving as matron of honor. Sara Churchman, Annie Bowman and Mandi Smith were bridesmaids. Jackson Smith was ring bearer, with Lyndi Smith as flower girl.
Adam Carroll served as best man, with Ryan Gustafson serving as co-best man. Justin Stevenson, brother of the groom, Ryan Sivyer and Chris Smith, brother of bride, were groomsmen. Doug Hunter and Matt Hunter served as ushers and candlelighters.
The reception was held at Staley Farms in Kansas City.
The bride received a bachelor’s degree in business in 2005 from Graceland University, and her MBA in 2008 from the University of Kansas. Erin is employed by State Street in Kansas City.
The bridegroom previously attended Graceland University, and is currently working towards an education degree at Missouri Western State University.
A honeymoon trip to California is planned, and the couple are at home in Parkville.
