Animals Best Friends and Papa Murphy’s are teaming up to help animals in need. Papa Murphy’s has graciously allowed Animals Best Friends to receive 25 percent of food sales on Sept. 8 at 1531 E. 23rd St. in Independence, just southwest of 23rd and Lee’s Summit Road.

You can stop by from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. or just mention Animals Best Friends when you place an order by phone. For ABF to benefit, no coupons can be used and drinks are not included. We all know Papa Murphy’s has the best handmade, homebaked pizza in town! So, come out to support our efforts to help homeless animals and take home a delicious pizza!

All proceeds will go to provide for the animals in our care. In recent months, ABF has spent money on surgeries for dogs that came to us with injuries.

Animals Best Friends also pays for treatment of sick cats from the Independence Animal Shelter. These veterinary costs, along with providing the daily necessities, such as food and a warm bed, can come to quite a large sum. Your support at these fundraisers help make it all possible! We appreciate your participation and hope to see you at Papa Murphy’s!
Animals Best Friends will have a booth, Annie’s Woofin’ Waffles, at Santa-Cali-Gon Days this weekend at the corner of Maple and Liberty on the Independence Square. We are selling waffle ice cream sundaes. Stop by and enjoy a yummy dessert while supporting our furry kids.

Animals Best Friends wish list includes: Purina Dog, Cat and Kitten chow, dog and cat treats and chews, cow hooves or rawhides, canned dog and cat food, stuffed (no beads) and Kong toys, laundry detergent, bleach, Fantastic cleaning spray, Dawn dish liquid, paper towels, newspapers, 39 gallon trash bags, blankets, sheets, cat litter. There is a paper recycling bin in the parking lot at ABF Headquarters, 2302 S. Crysler Ave., Independence. Please, no cardboard or telephone books. We appreciate your support.

The following animals are available for adoption at the Independence Animal Shelter. Visit the shelter at 875 Vista Drive or call 325–7207 for more information. If you have an animal control problem, call 325-7205.
