According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the 2008 Honda CRX that Tanner was operating was eastbound on Route A when it struck a deer. The motorcycle went off the left side of the roadway and Tanner was ejected.

A Richland man was flown to treatment for injuries suffered in a motorcycle vs. deer collision in Camden County Sunday evening.

Donald L. Tanner Jr., 55, received injuries described as serious in an accident around 7:05 p.m. Oct. 23 on Route A, just east of Toronto Springs.

Tanner was flown by the Staff for Life helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

The crash report indicated he was wearing a helmet.
