A man who reportedly committed an armed robbery Wednesday morning at an Independence drug store was arrested later in the day in another city.
The robbery occurred about 8:39 a.m. at CVS at the corner of 39th Street and Noland Road.
According to dispatchers, the suspect had been wearing camouflage clothing and a black hat and face mask and brandished a semi-automatic handgun. It is unknown what the suspect took from the store, but there were no injuries.
According to Independence Police, the person of interest was taken into custody by another jurisdiction on unrelated charges. After the man is booked by that jurisdiction, police said, he was scheduled to be moved to Independence for questioning.
