Metropolitan Community College held its 2017 commencement exercises Wednesday at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.

The featured speaker was MCC Chancellor Mark James, who is retiring June 30 after serving in the College’s top leadership post since 2010.

All MCC campuses took part in the ceremony. Here are some facts about the Blue River campus graduating class:

Graduates: 365 graduates total; 7 early college graduates.

Degrees and certificates: 284 associate in arts degrees; 4 associate in computer science degrees; 3 associate in engineering degrees; 5 associate in science degrees; 35 associate in applied science degrees; 34 certificates (typically one-year career programs).

Taking part: Campus president Dr. Michael Banks and deans Dr. Jon Burke and Dr. Todd Martin presented the Blue River candidates for graduation on stage.
