WHAT: Summit Theatre of Lee's Summit presents “Sondheim on Sondheim,” a musical and visual tribute (2010) to one of the most famous and prolific Broadway composers ever, directed by Rick Bumgardner.

WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday and June 23-24; 2:30 p.m. June 25.

WHERE: MCC-Longview Cultural Arts Center Black Box Theatre, 500 SW Longview Road, Lee's Summit.

WHAT THE SHOW IS ABOUT: The show takes an intimate look at the life words, music and career of Stephen Sondheim, as told by him through a series of projections and songs, Bumgardner says. The cast sings 19 songs – some that were re-worked from the show and are taken out of their original context, some that never made it into a show and several well-known blockbusters.

The cast includes Abbey Downs from Blue Springs and Julie McDaniel from Independence.
