The 41st Annual Blue Elk District Day Camp was held July 10-14 at the American Legion Farm in Blue Springs.

The Day Camp was attended by 400 Cub Scouts and adult leaders from 32 Packs from four Districts in Eastern Jackson County. The Scouts participated in over 20 activity areas staffed by District Scout leaders.

This year’s Day Camp, themed Cubcraft was inspired by the popular video game Minecraft, and featured arts and crafts, games, obstacles including a rope bridge, solar cooking, STEM projects, several shooting sports, zip line, and Scouting skills.

The Blue Elk District of the Boy Scouts of America includes Independence, Blue Springs, parts of Lee’s Summit and Kansas City, Grain Valley, Oak Grove, Buckner, Sibley, and Sugar Creek.
