The Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce says it’s hit a home run with its headliner for the opening night of the Fall Fun Festival this year.
It’s Casi Joy McCall, who won a couple rounds this season on “The Voice.”
“She’s going to be performing on the main stage in the beer garden on Friday night,” said Lara Vermillion, president of the chamber. She said organizers expect a large crowd.
Fall Fun Festival, a free event, is held Sept. 15-17 in downtown Blue Springs. There are two stages, a beer garden, a carnival and vendors selling food, crafts and other items. On Saturday the chamber holds what is calls the largest parade in Eastern Jackson County. Overall, it says, about 130,000 people attend the festival.
McCall, who is from Smithville, sang the LeAnn Rimes song “Blue” on “The Voice,” and she selected Blake Shelton as her coach.
