The Jackson County Legislature has forwarded three Republican nominees for the board of the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority.
The authority oversees the operations of Kauffman and Arrowheads. The five-member board has members of both political parties. Since Gov. Eric Greitens is a Republican, a three-to-two Republican majority is allowed. The person Greitens selects will replace board Chair Aimee Gromowsky, whose term expired this month.
The Legislature voted unanimously on Monday to approve the slate of nominees: Rick Thode of Raytown, Kevin Childress of Kansas City and William H. Brown of Lee’s Summit. The governor is expected to select one in the coming weeks.
