Diapers are loaded onto a truck earlier this week in Grain Valley. Students at Grain Valley High School gathered 500 packages of diapers and raised $2,000, all to be sent to the Texas Diaper Bank to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. More than 200 packages of diapers and $700 came in at the Grain Valley-Center football game Sept. 8, and another $500 came in during the city’s annual parade the next day. Grain Valley High School language arts teacher Julie Taylor said the students put in a good effort. ‘We’re very proud of them and proud of our community for helping out,’ she said. [Submitted photo]
