Blue Springs Police are looking for a suspect in connection with an armed robbery Friday evening at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 30 years old, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, with a red mask covering his lower face.

The robbery happened shortly before 8 p.m. Friday at the auto parts store at 1415 SW Missouri 7. According to police, the suspect entered the store, showed a handgun and told a clerk, “I am not playing and I don't want to hurt anyone.” He then pointed the handgun at the clerk and said to open the cash drawer. The suspect left with $550 and walked west on Clark Road.

FATAL CRASH: A two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Blue Springs killed an elderly woman.

The accident happened about 12:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Southwest Missouri 7 and Southwest Clark Lane.

A sedan car driven by a 72-year-old woman crashed into a trash bin truck, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not yet been released.

The trash bin truck driver was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
