Two seniors from Fort Osage High School have been honored by the Rotary Club of Independence as students of the month.

• D'Angelo Talbot is a two-time all-state choir member, a three-time all-district choir member, a member of the SWACDA Choir and has earned a FORCE letter. He has been active in school musicals, forensics, debate and choir.

Outside of school he is in a youth group and a youth band, church and his church choir, and the Music/Arts Institute choir.

He plans to pursue a career in vocal music performance, in opera.

His parents are Tanna Johnson and Jason Talbot.

 

• Mack Cooney has earned the KC Scholars scholarship, is on the A honor roll, and is editor of the yearbook. She has been active in concert choir, Touch of Class (chamber choir), as well as the yearbook and newspaper.

Outside of school she works at McAlister's Deli and has worked retail at the Kansas City Zoo.

She plans to attend the University of Kansas next fall to study journalism and mass communications.

Her parents are Connie Wieseler and Gary Monnig Jr.
