Vandals broke a window on the south side of the Bingham-Waggoner Mansion on Friday night, destroying a pane of 117-year-old glass. Replacement glass for the window off the formal dining room will cost about $400 to replace, and museum volunteers noted that the antique glass used in the other windows is no longer available. Neighbors noticed two or three people running from the mansion after they threw a rock through the window and tried to break in, setting off the alarm. The vandals have not been caught.
Friday had marked the first day of the mansion’s tours with Christmas decorations, and museum personnel said their alarm contractor was on site later Friday night to board up the window and clean the broken glass.
