Kansas City police are still seeking suspects in a Westport area shooting that left a former Blue Springs resident dead.
Zachary Pearce, 24, who lived in the Westport area but worked at his family’s business, Giggles-N-Jiggles Family Fun Center in Blue Springs, was found dead after Kansas City police responded to a call of shots being fired late Sunday night in the 100 block of East 40th Street.
Kansas City police say Pearce was walking home from an evening in Westport late Sunday night when he was approached by a suspect who attempted to rob him. During the robbery, police say the suspect shot Pearce, and two suspects fled in a dark-colored SUV south on Warwick Boulevard.
When police arrived, they found Pearce lying in the street with no signs of life.
Darin Snapp, public information officer with the Kansas City Police Department, said police are still seeking the suspects and are asking anyone with information to call the KCPD homicide unit at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
