The Blue Springs South Branch of Mid-Continent Public Library is offering the following activities for the month of January. The library is located at 2220 S. Missouri 7. All activities are free, but registration is required, call 816-229-3571.

'Winter Break Art Studio: For all ages, 2 p.m. Jan. 2. Join us at the Library as we have an art free-for-all! We’ll have glitter, stickers, colored pencils, markers, and other art supplies that kids of all ages can use to make their next masterpiece!

Celebrate Snowflakes: For ages 4 and older, 6:30 p.m. Jan. 4. Brrr... it’s cold outside! Come to the Library and make unique snowflakes to match the outdoors. We will read a story, sing songs, and make our own snowflakes.

Kid Games: For ages 6 and older, 2 p.m. Jan. 6. Connect, cooperate, and compete in a variety of games that are fun for your brain. Game on!

Decluttering – Finding Ways to Let Go: For adults, 2 p.m. Jan. 12. Is your stuff stressing you out? Join design consultant Lisa Holiman as she shares a methodology to pack up, donate, and throw away the things that are getting in your way and complicating your life.

Kids Lab: For ages 6 and older, 6:30 p.m. Jan. 18. Discover how you can bring science and technology to life.

Introduction to Internet Genealogy: For adults, 2 p.m. Jan. 20. Discover the best genealogy websites for your research. This is a beginner-level class. Basic computer literacy needed to follow along.

Feeding Kids Healthy Foods – Just What Does That Mean: For adults, 6:30 p.m. Jan. 23. Holistic health coach Nancy Oglesby offers parents a common sense approach to navigating the hype and confusion to find healthy food for their families.

Free Movies, Music and More: For adults, 6:30 p.m. Jan. 30. If you’re tired of spending hundreds of dollars on entertainment, discover all the different ways you can get movies, music, and more – for free – online from the Library.
