Two seniors from William Chrisman High School have been honored by the Rotary Club of Independence as students of the month.

• Brett Wilson received the McCoy Award for academic excellence, as well as a varsity letter and was named to all-conference singles and doubles in tennis. He has been very involved in tennis at Chrisman. His activities also include the A+ program, and he is vice president of Students Against Destructive Decisions.

Outside of school he is a crew member at Papa Murphy's.

He plans to attend the University of Missouri Science and Technology campus to study engineering.

His parents are Jeff and Wendy Wilson.

• Lucy Parrish also is a McCoy Award recipient and earned a letter in band. She also has been involved in National Honor Society, German Honor Society and the A+ program.

Outside of school she is a cashier at Target.

She plans to attend the University of Central Missouri to major in secondary education.

Her parents are Michael and Beverly Parrish.
